Armarium | Milan’s New Long-Term Wardrobe Brand with Italian Design and Craftsmanship – All Made in Italy
Armarium means "wardrobe" in Latin. The brand was founded in Milan by Italian influencer, fashion buyer, and model Giorgia Gabriele in 2022, starting with their Fall 2023 collection. Giorgia Gabriele had previously founded a seasonal, free-spirited brand in 2016 - as evident from its name "wanderings". After her marriage in 2021, as her life settled down, she began pursuing all-season, long-lasting, versatile clothing, leading to the creation of Armarium.
Since Armarium was established just 2 years ago, there's limited coverage both domestically and internationally, with only WWD and Vogue having materials. The Armarium website itself has minimal brand story information, and there's even a similarly named luxury clothing rental platform (ceased operations in 2020). Overall information is scarce, and the website offers limited clothing categories, so I'll try to write in detail.
I'll try to introduce this niche brand worth watching. The American modern minimalist design trend is gradually reaching Italy. Besides Armarium, I also like Fabiana Filippi, which I'll introduce in the next article. Both feature Italian local design, emphasize fabrics, currently have little brand premium, and are entirely designed and produced in Italy - the "made in Italy" label itself adds a filter.
"Every piece is designed, created and executed in Italy with methodological attention to details and fabrics." All Armarium clothing is designed and manufactured in Italy, and with the brand's focus on fabrics and details, the clothing is of superior quality. However, being so new, without stories and marketing, people don't know much about it, resulting in little brand premium.
This brand's price point is similar to La Collection, but quality and prices are higher than Love Toteme? Here Are 6 High-Quality, Affordable Minimalist Alternative Brands, yet not as expensive as the well-marketed Khaite, The Row, Gabriela Hearst, and Akris. It's one of my hidden gem brands.
Like La Collection, for these design-focused brands with excellent fit and details, let's focus on suits, coats, dresses, and leather goods. For these major pieces, the main fabrics are Virgin Wool and Silk, blended with cashmere in different proportions, typically 80%-90% wool mixed with silk or cashmere. Linings are either 100% silk (La Collection) or 100% cupro (Armarium). Cheaper brands like Toteme use less expensive polyester for linings.
However, not being a cashmere brand, they make fewer cashmere series and cashmere coats, which aren't recommended.
La Collection and Armarium have some good jeans, but since I don't like denim, I'll skip that here.
Lookbook
Armarium has been releasing seasonal collections since Fall 2023 RTW, currently offering spring and fall seasons. Their Lookbook shows complete outfits including shoes and bags available on their website, which currently features mainly 2025 resort season items along with 2023 and 2024 Fall styles.
When founders have sufficient fashion background and funding to build a mid-to-high-end minimalist luxury brand, they typically release seasonal Lookbooks.
2023 Fall
These 3 sets can all be found on the website, considered classic styles
2024 Spring
2024 Fall
Except for the last down jacket set which is hard to find, other shoes, bags, pants, skirts, and jackets from 2024 can be found on the website. Not every Lookbook piece is available online - they mainly stock high-volume production items.
2025 Resort
Current season's new styles - Armarium favors strapless designs for summer dresses and tops
2025 Pre Fall
Only Lookbook available, clothing likely still in production
Coat
Armarium's most expensive pieces are two nappa lambskin coats featuring trench coat elements like storm flap (also called gun flap), shoulder strap, and belted cuffs.
The black short version is $3000, brown long version $4000. Other wool-cashmere blend coats are around $2000, similar to La Collection prices. For comparison, regular wool blend coats from The Row, Khaite, Gabriela Hearst, or Akris run $3000-4000.
The leather pants in the image below are also by Armarium.
This trench-style leather coat is rare - few Xiaohongshu and Instagram influencers wear it. Leather jackets are more commonly seen in jacket styles.
Both trench coats feature a single vent, also called central back vent
The Hadi Coat in 90% wool, 10% cashmere, with central back vent and oversize fit, is Armarium's main coat style
Available in black and grey - remember to increase screen brightness to see details on black clothing
Below are detail shots of the Hadi Coat from the website. This is another detail I've noticed - high-end Italian brands typically include detail shots on their websites to showcase their attention to detail. Notice the clean, precise stitching.
Jacket
Armarium offers two suit styles - Noah and Hubby series. Being Italian, they incorporate Italian menswear suit characteristics with thinner fabrics, specifically using lightweight virgin wool
Noah Jacket 95% virgin wool
Available in black and tea brown
Comparing with La Collection's Antwerp suit shows different styles. La Collection is more French, with straighter shoulder lines, stiffer fabric, and wider lapels. (Further reading: 17 Top Luxury Men's Suit Brands for Gentlemen )
The Hubby Jacket features asymmetrical design, more distinctive with side vents (double vent or lateral back vent)
Available in grey, black, and white. All Armarium buttons are horn buttons
Dress
Armarium's dresses come in different materials including 100% silk, cotton, and viscose, hence the varying price points. Their fall/winter long-sleeve dresses are made of merino wool.
The most expensive dress from Armarium is the Alya 100% silk strapless dress, suitable as eveningwear. It comes in both black and tea color.
Debra virgin wool dress
Armarium's dress signature is the off-shoulder strapless design with various pleating effects in the bust area (some tops are also strapless). Below are two pieces from Armarium's Debra series (known for strapless designs), with the right one made of cotton featuring a towel-like texture.
Armarium offers many pencil skirts in various materials including Nappa leather, virgin wool, silk, and denim. It's rare to see such a wide range of pencil skirts. Overall, Armarium gives me an impression of clean, smooth, and simple lines.
The strapless top in the middle of the image below is also from the Debra series.
Epilogue
I wouldn't recommend Armarium's other items like cashmere sweaters, belts, or basic tank tops. Their leather shoes and bags are worth noting - though the styles are limited, the leather quality is visibly excellent.
Their bags are represented by the oversized 7 days tote bag. There's also an Elosia clutch bag which I find impractical, so I won't elaborate further.
Their signature shoes currently include the Eveline high heels and Orsola high-heel boots.
The square toe is their signature feature.
They have limited options for flat shoes, with nothing particularly suitable.
Armarium's overall style is perfect for consumers needing professional workwear - simple, clean, yet designed. In comparison, La Collection appears more casual.
Currently in China, Armarium is only available at Lane Crawford, with more options on their official website than in physical stores, where items aren't always displayed.
