Ballet Core and Miu Miu Outfit:Stylish Summer Aesthetic
Previously, I always wanted to write about the popular miu miu style from the past 1-2 years. When I started searching for materials, I discovered that the ballet core style was already popularized by Jennie at the beginning of the year.
miu miu itself borrows from ballet attire, so I'll write about both styles together.
Ballet Core
Main items for ballet style:
(Waist-revealing) tight tops, long sleeves or short sleeves, mostly tube tops
Pleated skirts or pleated dresses, dresses themselves are also tight-fitting
Leg warmers/tights/pantyhose/mid-calf socks
Flat shoes/ballet shoes/Mary Jane shoes
Whether it's the tube tops and short sleeves in the first row, the long sleeves in the second row, or the dress below, the top must be tight to highlight the body's curves, making this outfit less friendly to those with a belly.
The skirt also has this flared shape with pleats, adding a romantic and girly touch.
The following images are counter-examples.
The tops are structured, not outlining the curves of the waist, shoulders, and chest; the pants are masculine, simple in style, straight and loose; the shoes are more powerful boots, contrasting sharply with the previous soft leg warmers and small shoes.
The image below serves as a counter-example to better understand ballet core.
Based on the four basic items above, you can make changes to just one factor to create more outfit combinations, while keeping the other three elements unchanged. For instance, you can swap the leg warmers for boots or simply change the tight top to a sporty sweatshirt, and the short skirt to regular shorts or a skirt.
Miu Miu
Miu miu generally borrows the tight-fitting top style and also frequently uses tights/mid-calf socks. The difference lies in the skirts and outerwear.
01
A classic miu miu item is the gray slim-fit cardigan. The bottom is not the youthful, romantic short skirt of ballet core but a knee-length straight skirt, more suitable for the workplace, often paired with slightly heeled shoes.
The left image includes my own photo. The only miu miu-like item I have at home is this purple velvet cardigan.
By deconstructing these styles today, I realized I could never achieve this look because my skirts and short sleeves don't match these styles. I don't have items like short skirts, tights, mid-calf socks, straight skirts, and tight tops at home.
This style above is the most suitable for everyday wear out of the entire ballet core and miu miu style, and is very friendly to the general public.
Another miu miu style involves pairing short skirts with tight short sleeves or long sleeves, but the key is to wear a belt or expose the waist directly.
02
This also belongs to the miu miu style, layered top with a super short skirt, sometimes even underwear.
The common inner layer for the top is a shirt, exposing the collar, hem, or even the cuffs, with a sweater, coat, or cardigan over it.

Finally, there's the miu miu dress, with a fitted top and a length reaching the upper thighs.
Epilogue
The above is my understanding of ballet core and miu miu style. I finally see where I can improve my outfits and open up new clothing categories.
Recently, the apricots in Beijing have ripened. I've been busy making green apricot wine and apricot honey. For the base liquor, I'm planning to use Xifeng wine and vodka. This is my first time seeing apricots from the north, making this the inaugural year of apricot wine for me.
The photos in this post were casually taken while picking apricots. There’s an apricot tree right above my head. I spent half an afternoon editing the video footage, and it has already been published on Youtube: pamperherself.
